Pediatric Occupational Therapy Services
Personalized support for children, families, and schools
From an initial conversation to ongoing sessions, services are tailored to each child’s developmental needs and the concerns of their family or educators.
Consultations
Consultations provide parents and educators with guidance, strategies, and resources to support a child’s development and participation in everyday activities.
Rather than direct treatment with the child, consultations focus on working with the adults who support them. Available by phone or in person, they may include coaching, demonstrations, individualized recommendations, and home or school programs.
Developmental Screenings
A screening is a brief session, approximately 20 minutes, that helps determine whether a comprehensive evaluation or occupational therapy services may be beneficial.
Through a parent interview, clinical observations, and informal assessment, Janie explores your child’s strengths and potential areas of difficulty, then provides recommendations for next steps.
Screenings can take place at home or school, depending on your child’s needs.
Comprehensive Evaluations
An evaluation provides a detailed understanding of your child’s strengths, areas of need, and how their skills affect participation and independence in everyday activities.
Depending on your child’s needs, an evaluation may include:
Age-appropriate standardized assessments
Clinical observations
Questionnaires
A parent interview
Families receive a written report with findings, individualized goals, and recommendations. A follow-up phone conference provides time to review the results and ask questions.
Individual Sessions
One-on-one occupational therapy sessions are tailored to your child’s strengths, learning style, and goals.
Provided at home or school, sessions use engaging, multisensory activities to develop foundational skills, build confidence, and encourage independence.
Ongoing communication with families and teachers supports practice across environments. Home programs and weekly activities may also be provided.
Group Sessions
Group sessions give children opportunities to develop and practice targeted skills alongside peers in a supportive, engaging environment.
Activities are designed around participating children’s needs and goals.
Preschool Screenings
Preschool screenings help schools and early childhood programs identify children who may benefit from additional occupational therapy support.
Screenings may explore fine motor development, pre-writing skills, visual-motor integration, motor coordination, and other skills related to classroom participation.
Teachers can receive consultation and recommendations to help determine appropriate next steps.
